SHOOT DAY

I am actually very happy with today's photos, I think the styling was successful and coherent, and the modification I made on the vests and the jacket made a difference. I used a black backdrop as planned, which gave me a more neutral look and drew more attention to the styling, and hopefully to the text once it's edited into a publication. In some cases, less is more, and I think for some of these photos the change in background was very successful. I also spontaneously took some quick photos of the vests and jacket hung up on hangers on clothing lines, taking inspiration from Carhartt's campaign in collaboration with bentgablenits, which I ended up loving. Doing the test shoot made me realise I wanted to opt for some more soft/ earth toned photos to promote the concept of vintage and durable workwear. I have been editing these photos into beige- soft warm tones, whilst keeping a few in black and white. I wish I had better planned for a film, and organised my time better (I did not have enough time to gather any new film footage so decided to focus primarily on stills), but in the end it did help me to tune in on one thing and produce a better outcome, rather than becoming overwhelmed by new ideas/ loads if footage to shoot/ edit. I will definitely be printing some of these into a poster format, and editing the rest onto a digital publication. I will be working on that over the next few couple of days.
